Privacy Explainer

Introduction

Welcome to FlameWolf, a browser committed to prioritizing your privacy and offering a transparent browsing experience. This document provides an overview of how you can communicate with us to discuss privacy improvements and contribute directly to the project.

Communicating with Us

To discuss how to improve privacy in FlameWolf, you can reach out to us through our mailing lists. We have dedicated mailing lists for development and general discussions:

  1. Development Mailing List: For technical discussions and development-related queries, please join our development mailing list: ~rajdeep/flamewolf-devel.

  2. Discussion Mailing List: For general discussions, feedback, and non-technical queries, please join our discussion mailing list: ~rajdeep/flamewolf-discuss.

We have more mailing lists (each for different purpose)! You can find them here!

Mailing List Etiquette

Our mailing lists follow SourceHut’s mailing list etiquette. To ensure smooth communication, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Use a Plaintext Mail Supported Client: We prefer that you use email clients that support plaintext mail. For more information on why this is important and how to set it up, visit useplaintext.email.

  • Respect and Professionalism: Keep the discussions respectful and professional. Constructive criticism and open dialogue are encouraged, but personal attacks or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

Contributing to FlameWolf

We welcome contributions from the community to make FlameWolf even better. Here’s how you can get involved:

GitHub Repository

Our primary source code repository is hosted on GitHub. To contribute, follow these steps:

  1. Fork the Repository: Go to the FlameWolf GitHub repository, fork it to your own account, and clone the fork to your local machine.

  2. Make Your Changes: Implement your changes or improvements in your local repository. Follow our coding standards and ensure your changes do not introduce any regressions.

  3. Submit a Pull Request: Once your changes are ready, push them to your fork and submit a pull request to the main repository. Provide a clear and detailed description of the changes you have made.

  4. Review and Merge: Your pull request will be reviewed by the FlameWolf team. If everything looks good, it will be merged into the main repository.

For more information, refer to How to Contribute.

Mailing List Contributions

For non-code contributions, discussions, suggestions, or contributions via Mercurial please use the appropriate mailing list mentioned above. Your ideas and feedback are valuable, and engaging with the community helps us shape the future of FlameWolf.
